Oh no...It's That Canon Word Again!
Unless you've lived under a rock for the last fifty years, at some point you've made the connection with the Star Trek version of the word "canon" as it relates to Trek.  It was originally set up by the powers that be so that when the show was first created there would be no overlaps in plots or timelines. Star Trek books were the biggest format to take the hit, even though there have been some great books put out over the years. "Star Trek: Discovery" Producer Alex Kurtzman knows all about canon and promises that the show will respect it. Still true Star Trek fans are understandably nervous and are questioning the design and aesthetics of what they are seeing, given that the show is supposed to take place in the Trek timeline 10 years before the “classic” 1960s series. That's because  production of the first series has been plagued by several difficulties, including the departure of original producer Bryan Fuller. Kurtzman, took the opportunity in a recent interview to straiten things out. "If you are a fan of Trek, you are going to see a lot of things which relate back to the original series and elements of the original series. I’m not just talking plot, but the spirit of what that show was. We are going to be revisiting a couple of things that I think people are going to find familiar."

Rumors have been swirling about Craig's return for a fifth movie even after he stated that after the release of 2015's "Spectre." Producers are close to signing a deal to shoot some of the movie in Croatia.
